Christmas Dance

Each December, our school puts on a beautiful Christmas dance. Everyone enjoys it very much. The highlight of this years dance for me was that I got to bring a date! Guess who I took?

We had such a good time. Landon and I even participated in the swing dance competition! Accompanying me to the dance was Landon's Christmas present to me this year! Isn't he a sweet brother? I think this was the first time I ever saw Landon in a suit. He told me later that he looked up how to tie his tie on YOUTUBE!! Oh, the age we live in! Here are a few more pics from the night...

Four Christmases?

Well...actually my family will be having (only) three Christmases this year...

1) One at home

2) One in Houston, Texas with my Dad's side of the family

3) And one in Lake Jackson, Texas with my mom's side of the family

We celebrated Christmas #1 Saturday night as a family. We spent the day together beginning with Drew's basketball game, followed by some last minute shopping, a nice dinner out and a "Walk Through Bethlehem" at a local Methodist Church. We then came back to the house to open presents! My dad insisted on exchanging gifts before heading to Texas so we have less to pack. The day went really great and it was a real blessing to get to spend some time together as a family. Here are some pictures of our day...

"Stubby"

We met this bird back in the fall while in Blue Ridge. Poor thing was so dumb, he let us pick him up.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Another Fantastic Sunday

Sunday was a big day! I had the honor of getting to attend my sweet friend C's very first horse show. Missing church Sunday morning, we road tripped about an hour to the show's location. We had a fun time traveling up there and C's momma and I had a great time getting to watch the show. What was most impressive was that C placed in her section of riders! I was so excited! It was quite an accomplishment for her first show! Proud of you girl!
Sadly, I missed my daddy preach Sunday morning at church. It was quite a privilege for him to preach and he did a fantastic job! You can listen to his sermon here...http://www.rightfromtheheart.org/watch/12059
Have a great Thanksgiving week!

Steep Your Life

First of all, I want to say how much I adore being home schooled. There are mornings that I am extra specially thankful for the opportunity to learn independently at home. I got a large amount of school work finished yesterday so I took it easy this morning...well sort of.
I woke up and spent some time with my heavenly father and then I decided to clean my room. My room was such a mess. Seriously, I have no idea how it gets so cluttered!! This week, I have been working on homework all over my house because I can't stand to work at my desk with my room being such a disaster.
But, don't fear, my room is back to normal now and I wouldn't be mortified if you took a peek in there.
Can you guess how I rewarded myself for cleaning?
Tea of course!!!
Okay, so I am extremely easy to please. There is nothing better than hot, steeped, loose leaf tea on...any day!
I smiled when I read the bible verse on my devotional yesterday.

Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

- Matthew 6:33-34 (The Message) My choice of tea today was a honeybush blend.

True Friendship

What is true friendship? God laid this verse on my heart earlier in the summer and I wanted to share it.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

- Romans 12: 9-12

Friendships are valuable and should have strong foundations. This verse sets a great standard of what a real and true friendship should look like.

To: Ephesus

Today in Bible study, we started a study on the book of Ephesians.
Ephesians is one of my favorite books of the Bible because to me, it is like a "go to" book. Paul does an amazing job pretty much summing up the Christian walk. No matter where I am in my relationship with God, I know I can turn to any of Paul's letters as a source of encouragement or guidance.
I think God was reminding me today of what a great the book of Ephesians is and the times he has spoken to me from it in the past. The Word is most definitely alive!
Ah! I love Sundays! How was yours?

This is a picture I took of my adopted sister Maddie yesterday.

New

I have been wanting for forever to get a blog...and it's finally here! Basically
the theme of my blog is the wonder of my Lord Jesus Christ. He
literally takes my breath away sometimes. So my posts you will soon
discover are just little peeks into the those times when he leaves me
speechess.
