Today, it has been a year since Brock's death. I miss him so very much and cherish every memory I have of him. Life is so short! I wish I had captured more of those memories on camera. The pictures below are the only pictures I took of Brock and I treasure them dearly. I may not have pictures of Brock and I jumping on the trampoline or reading his Bible together or playing the "monkey measurement" board game (which we could never figure out how to play), but I do have these pictures and the sweet memories that I will never forget. Love you and miss you Brockie! Have fun dancing with the angels!

Live Hard, Love Hard & RUN to Jesus!

I really missed Brockie today. I just know he would have rocked the cub dash this year! I love Ms. Nita's latest post. It brought back a bunch of memories from last year's Polar Bear run. http://nitameadows.blogspot.com/

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Without Water...

They will neither hunger nor thirst. The searing sun will not reach them anymore. For the Lord in his mercy will lead them; he will lead them beside cool waters.

- Isaiah 49:10 NLT
Tuesday evening, my dad brought these beautiful tulips home to my mom. She was so excited about them! Well, the above picture doesn't really do the gorgeous flowers justice. I took this picture the following morning when I found them looking a little sleepy. I thought, "Aw, they are sleeping! How cute is that??" I decided that later, I would take another picture when they were more perked up. Well, when I went to the kitchen later to take another picture, my mom told me that she had also found the tulips that morning and that she then realized that she had forgotten to put them in water. She was so excited about them the night before, that she had put them in the vase without water!

These sweet flowers were a reminder to me of the way a relationship with God changes us. Without a personal relationship with God we have no purpose and cannot thrive. Just like without water, the tulips could not stretch out and grow. But when God is an active part of our lives we are nourished and vibrant!

After sitting in water for a while, the tulips lifted their heads to the sun again!

Psalm 19:8

Em sketched this a few nights ago and I liked it very much. We found a bible verse that went along with it perfectly!
The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
- Psalm 19:8

The Beginning of a New Year

The blog is freshened up a bit and it's a new year! It's been a wonderfully restful break and I am looking forward to all the great things God has in store for us in 2009!

Thanks to all my darling friends who helped me feel at home in Texas again!
