Return To Sender...

Picture of the day!

Dear Mr. Postman,

I used my limited amounts of creativity to make adorable thank you cards for my family and friends following Christmas. I frowned upon discovering one of my thank you cards in my mail box this week with a "Return To Sender" label. Your version of an explanation came attached, letting me know that my sweet, handmade card is too small against your American postal standards. Well Mr. Postman, Can you explain to me why only 1, out of 10 cards got returned to me? All of my other cards made it on their journeys throughout the U.S. You need to up your game if you don't want tiny, heartfelt, handwritten cards slipping through the cracks of your so-called standards.

Sincerely,

Amateur Card Maker

Winter Jam '09

I went to Winter Jam '09 with some good friends and family on Sunday night and it was so awesome! It was more than just a concert. It was a revival-like worship experience. They have estimated that over 1500 people prayed to receive Christ! God really moved in that place and left everyone feeling spiritually refueled! On Monday morning, I was just praising God for such an amazing night and thanking him for all he did. I wrote in my journal that the concert was such a "refueling experience" for me and I asked him to allow me to "shine the flame that I feel inside." This is the coolest part. When I finished writing in my journal, I started to read my devo for the day from "PURE" by Rebecca St. James. The verse on the very bottom of the page was this:
"Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame."
-Romans 12:11a (The Message)
Ok, its that cool or what?! I love my God!

The line to get into the concert!

Tea and Tennis Shoes

Good morning! I was impressed by the lovely tea I enjoyed at "Sugar Cakes" in downtown Marietta this morning. I had a Jasmine Green tea and it was so delicious!

When I got home, my brother insisted that I try on his old running shoes to see how they fit. I happily complied and they fit pretty good (I think I want a new pair though). I can't wait to start running! Hopefully by spring I'll have built up enough endurance to get around the block. ha ha. Anyways, just wanted to brag on my brother a bit. He is such an encouragement to me and pushes me HARD! Maybe someday you'll see us running down Johnson Ferry Rd. together!
Have a great morning and let's run with perseverance the race marked out for us today! (Hebrews 12:1)
A few updates about the blog:
  • 1) The web page now displays only 5 posts at a time (so you don't have to scroll for a billion years).
  • 2) At the very bottom of my blog, you'll find a "book shelf" displaying books that I have read recently. I just became a member of "Shelfari" which is tons of fun. (There's a link there so you can check it out.)
  • 3) On the right bar, there is a new playlist of music . I am going to Winter Jam'09 and the music is of all the artists that will be there. You have to push play on your own IF you want to listen. Enjoy!
